About I'm A Dad
I'm A Dad is really just a collection of stories about, well...being a dad. While the stories probably resonate most with fathers, at their core they are about relationships and the challenges that come with learning to live for something beyond ourselves. I think that's something we can all connect with on a human level; so whether male or female, married or single, parent or not, feel free to read the journals, listen to the stories, and please drop me a line if you have a story of your own that you'd like to share.
My name is Joe Hunich. My wife, Danielle, and I live in Tacoma, WA with our two sons Aiden and Kai. I have been an educator for the past ten years; six as a high school history teacher and the four as a coordinator of a college prep program for Native American students in the South Puget Sound area. I'm currently enrolled in the Communications Leadership program at the University of Washington, pursuing my Master's of Communication in Communities and Networks.
I think being a dad is a huge responsibility, but also a tremendous gift. I'm definitely not the best at it, but I am doing the best I can. I'm grateful that my boys show me love as I'm learning to be better; and I try to do the same for them as well.
